Profits or public health? Identifying barriers & opportunities to address the commercial determinants of obesity
De huidige aanpak ter preventie van obesitas heeft maar beperkt effect. Er zijn aanwijzingen dat commerciële voedingsbedrijven de invoering van effectieve beleidsmaatregelen zoals een suikertaks proberen tegen te houden. Hoeveel invloed die commerciële strategieën daadwerkelijk hebben in vergelijking met andere factoren, zoals publieke opinie en bereidheid tot regulering door de overheid, is onbekend.
In dit project ontrafelen onderzoekers de manieren waarop commerciële bedrijven beleid gericht op de preventie van obesitas beïnvloeden, en de voorwaarden waaronder de overheid (mogelijk) strengere beleidsmaatregelen invoert.
