ACcellerate The Implementation Of Networkcare for Parkinson’s Disease

In the Netherlands, ParkinsonNet is available as an integrated and person-centered model of care for people with Parkinson's disease.

Aims

The goal of ACTION-PD is to introduce ParkinsonNet in Europe so that more people have access to care providers specialized in Parkinson's disease.

Methods

Four regions in Poland, Italy and France are participating in ACTION-PD. The main elements of ACTION-PD are:

  1. training of national teams by the Dutch ParkinsonNet team, who will then introduce the care model in their own countries;
  2. training of caregivers by the national teams, according to the latest guidelines;
  3. forming an international network to learn, innovate and research together.

(Expected) results

The gained experiences will be used to create an implementation guideline for the further rollout of ParkinsonNet in other regions and countries. The ParkinsonNet approach can also serve as an example for other chronic diseases, such as Alzheimer's disease, COPD and heart failure.
