DEN-GGZ: Recovery-oriented nurse-led interventions and leadership within the triad

Relatives of individuals with mental health vulnerabilities experience a high burden due to shortened inpatient stays and limited support, despite their role in the recovery process. Professionals in nursing and care occupy a key position in care delivery yet lack evidence-based interventions to foster collaboration within the triad of client, relative, and professional. 

Aim

DEN-GGZ aims to bridge the gap between recovery-oriented and the diagnosis-driven practices in mental health care and strengthening nursing leadership. The outcomes will yield interventions and tools for education, clinical practice, thereby contributing to appropriate care.

Approach

4 work packages have been developed. Within a learning network, through co-creation with stakeholders, recovery-oriented nurse-led interventions will be designed, tested, and implemented. These interventions strengthen recovery, reduce the need for coercive measures, and enhance the autonomy of individuals with a mental health vulnerability and their relatives.
