Development of a clinical practice guideline for neck pain and headache
Neck pain and headache have a significant impact on daily functioning. The current guidelines for exercise and physiotherapists are outdated, resulting in significant differences in the treatment of these complaints. Additionally, it is unclear how different healthcare professionals can best collaborate.
Aim
Therefore, within this project, a guideline is being developed on exercise and physiotherapeutic care for neck pain and headache, as well as on collaboration between healthcare professionals. By working together, we will improve care for people with neck pain and headache and prevent more expensive hospital care
Approach
The guideline will be developed with a guideline panel, consisting of various healthcare professionals and patients. The main issues encountered in practice are being collected, and practical recommendations are being formulated based on scientific research and other considerations. An important aspect of the project concerns the implementation of the guideline.
