Future proof mental health nursing: fundamental care in a recovery-oriented perspective
People with complex psychiatric problems often go through a long and challenging recovery process. Nurses play a key role in supporting this recovery, but little is known about which elements of essential, day-to-day nursing care contribute most to it.
Aim
This research line investigates and strengthens essential, recovery-oriented nursing in mental health care. It addresses urgent challenges in practice, such as increasing care demands and the outflow of professionals.
Approach
We apply multiple research methods, combining scientific evidence with insights from practice. Nurses, patients, and researchers work closely together throughout the line of research.
Expected results
The line of research delivers practical tools for care, research, and education, and lays the foundation for a future-proof mental health nursing practice through sustainable collaboration in the field of essential, recovery-oriented care.
