INvolving underserved Screening Invitees in DEcision-making and Research on cancer Screening

People with a lower socioeconomic background and/or migration background have a higher risk of developing cancer, but are difficult to reach, both in cancer screening and in research.   

Aims 

This project will develop a digital application to improve the accessibility of cancer screening and the inclusiveness of scientific research.  

Methods 

In a scoping review and qualitative interviews with underserved groups in Ireland, Portugal and the Netherlands, the project will identify barriers in cancer screening and scientific research, and methods to overcome these barriers. Together with these groups and a Romanian technological partner, strategies and materials will be developed and integrated into a digital application. In interviews with stakeholders we will assess how the application can be applied in practice. The application will then be tested on use and usability in cancer screening and scientific research in Ireland, Portugal and theNetherlands.
