TRIANGLE-study: nursing professionals’ work(environment) in home care, nursing home and hospital

Appropriate care requires cross-sector organisation of care, e.g. in the transition triangle home care-nursing home-hospital. A new working environment for care teams has been created in this triangle. While the work environment is crucial for care quality and nursing professionals’ wellbeing, little is known about this environment.

Aim

This line of research focuses on improving the working environment of teams in the transition triangle.

Approach

Together with nurse assistants, nurses, advanced nurse practitioners, and other stakeholders, we:

  • redefine the working environment and develop a view on the profession
  • implement this in a hospital at (nursing) home practice in the Brabant West region
  • evaluate the impact on job satisfaction, staff turnover, quality of care, patient satisfaction and costs

Collaboration

We involve patient(representative)s, educational, branch, professional and employer organisations in the research.

Expected results

Practical tools and recommendations that can also be applied in other regions.
