Academic Living Lab Community Nursing North-Holland 2026-2028

Complex care and treatment in both acute and long-term care settings are increasingly being provided at home, with a decreasing number of healthcare professionals. As a result, the accessibility and quality of community nursing are under pressure. For future-proof community nursing, practice-based research and implementation are essential.

Regional knowledge infrastructure

The Academic Living Lab Community Nursing North Holland has led to a regional knowledge infrastructure in which healthcare professionals, researchers, students, lecturers and clients collaborate on community-oriented prevention, acute community care and nursing home care at home.

Aim and approach

We will:

  • further develop and consolidate the internal organisation and knowledge infrastructure
  • deepen and expand research, implementation and education
  • sustain the living lab within regional and national structures

We aim to structurally contribute to knowledge development and application, and thereby to better care and well-being for clients.
